Christmas BluesD
Here's a toast to Christmas everywhere G A time of joyous singing D While some may like to wander round A To neighbors gifts they're bringing D If the carolers don't leave my lawn G Their necks I will be ringing D-A-D D-E-F# (Notes) Tin pot Santas line the streets Their hands reach for my pocket Their shifty eyes give them away Then faster than a rocket I grab the hand and quickly twist Their arms out of the socket And houses in the suburbs Emit a toxic glow Each neighbor is competing In a Vegas style show I roll with caustic laughter As their electric bills grow December brings death to the year Why won't it do for me? I fear I'll linger to the end And right past New Year's Eve And then I'll have to live through Christmas one more year Cuz I got the holiday blues |
